2:42. শলোমন শিমিযিকে ডেকে পাঠিয়ে বললেন, “আমি ঈশ্বরের নামে শপথ করে তোমায় বলেছিলাম য়ে তুমি জেরুশালেম শহরের বাইরে পা দিলে তোমার মৃত্যুদণ্ড হবে| আমি তোমাকে সাবধান করে দিয়েছিলাম য়ে তোমার নিজের ভুলের জন্য তোমার মৃত্যু হবে এবং তুমি আমার কথা মেনে চলতে রাজী হয়েছিলে|

2:42. the king summoned Shimei and said to him, "You will recall that I made you take an oath by the LORD, and I solemnly warned you, 'If you ever leave and go anywhere, know for sure that you will certainly die.' You said to me, 'The proposal is acceptable; I agree to it.'

2:42. So the king sent for Shimei and demanded, "Didn't I make you swear by the LORD and warn you not to go anywhere else or you would surely die? And you replied, 'The sentence is fair; I will do as you say.'
